The ticket site also lists an inland waterway pier service at VND 3,000. Tickets are sold online at muavedulichnhatrang.com.vn.
Who pays, who is free and who pays half
The board said the fee applies from 25 September 2025. A newspaper reports that a Khanh Hoa People’s Council resolution dated 15-8-2025 set it, with the board as collector.
Bao Van Hoa lists free entry for children under 6, disabled people, people with revolutionary merit and social-policy beneficiaries. It adds Khanh Hoa residents, people in especially difficult communes and people aged 60 and over.
The same paper lists a 50% reduction for children aged 6 to under 16, students on school trips and poor households. Sai Gon Giai Phong gives a similar list but puts people over 60 in the half-price group.
The two reports disagree on people aged 60 and over. Ask at the counter before you pay.

VinWonders says the shared three-island tour is the cheapest option because it bundles pickup, boat, lunch and entry. It gives a self-arranged crossing from Cau Da at VND 250,000 per person by boat or VND 300,000 by speedboat.
What the tour includes
MIA.vn lists hotel pickup, the speedboat, beach tent seats, Coral Bay and Bai Tranh tickets, a nine-dish lunch and travel insurance. Vietnam Booking lists lunch, a floating bar, kayak races, basket boats and Robinson Island tickets with a tent chair and fresh-water shower.
It also lists core-zone and fishing village tickets, life jackets and travel insurance worth VND 20,000,000 per person. A VAT invoice adds 10% to the tour price.
Vietnam Booking asks for 70% of the price when you register.
A day on the water
One operator page gives this schedule:
08:00 to 09:00: pickup in Nha Trang and transfer to the Nha Trang - Vinh Truong tourist port.
09:00 to 11:00: swimming at the Hon Mun marine reserve.
12:00 to 13:00: lunch at the island restaurant.
15:00: the fishing village at Hon Mieu.
17:00: the boat returns to the mainland.
The page says the order and details can change but the stops stay. MIA.vn describes a different order: Bai Tranh first, then the fishing village, then Tri Nguyen.
What to see on a Nha Trang island tour
Operators choose the stops. MIA.vn says four-island tours usually visit four of Hon Mot, Hon Mun, Hon Mieu, Robinson Island, Tri Nguyen Island and the fishing village.
Hon Mun
Hon Mun lies in the southern part of Nha Trang Bay, about 10 km south-east of Cau Da port and about 14 km from the city centre. Local Vietnam says it was designated Vietnam’s first marine protected area.
Local Vietnam says the name means ebony island, after the dark volcanic cliffs of the coast. It says the World Wildlife Fund ranked the area the most biodiverse marine area in Vietnam, with around 350 hard coral species and 230 reef fish species.
The same guide says recent visitors reported stretches of white, dead coral and murky water in some zones. It adds that hard corals grow roughly 1 centimetre per year.
The rocky landing and sand strip.
The shoreline is rocky in places, so water shoes are worth packing. The toilets are basic.
Local Vietnam says there are no restaurants on the island, so group-tour lunch is at a fishing village stop or on Hon Tam. Sun loungers cost about VND 30,000 for striped chairs and VND 50,000 for white ones, and fresh water is VND 15,000 per bucket.
VinWonders gives a Hon Mun entrance ticket of VND 22,000 per adult and VND 11,000 per child. Local Vietnam gives the same figures for the marine reserve and says tours usually include them. Those figures differ from the VND 10,000 route fee on the board’s site, so ask which one your tour pays.
Some tours include a floating bar segment. VinWonders says sea games such as parasailing and kayaking are priced high, so ask the price first.
In the water
Local Vietnam says snorkelling is included or a low-cost add-on on virtually every tour, and non-swimmers can join with a life jacket. It advises reef-safe sunscreen, not touching coral or marine life, and a rash guard.
Sea walking is a helmet dive to around five metres that needs no diving skills, at around VND 600,000 per person. Availability varies by operator and season. Parasailing costs 600,000 to 800,000 VND and depends on the weather.
Hon Mun marine protected area: what is allowed
Fishing, breaking coral and dumping rubbish are strictly banned at Hon Mun, says VinWonders. Local Vietnam says authorities suspended all scuba diving at the reserve in June 2022 to allow recovery.
VnEconomy reports that the board suspended swimming, diving, boats and glass-bottom baskets in the waters of Hon Mun from 27/6/2022 until further notice. It says the suspension applies in the strictly protected sub-zone.
The board’s ticket site carries a notice dated 27/6/2022: diving in the reserve is done only at the Hon Rom dive point. A June 2024 report says Hon Rom still allowed diving, and the board’s deputy head said it would be suspended in future.
VnEconomy reports that survey results put live coral cover on the reef north of Hon Mun at about 65.5%. It says the board surveys the Hon Mun reef every 3 or 6 months during the suspension.
In June 2024 Khanh Hoa approved four new diving areas for one year. They are north of Hon Rua, the Vinh Hoa artificial reefs, north-east of Tri Nguyen and the waters between Bai Tranh and Bai Soi.
VinWonders tells visitors that Hon Mun is closed to diving and suggests Hon Tam or licensed areas in the bay. One operator page still lists swimming at the Hon Mun marine reserve. See the diving and snorkelling guide for dive centres and prices.
Hon Mot
MIA.vn describes Hon Mot as a place of quiet fishing hamlets. Operators list it as one of the usual stops.

Hon Mieu, Bai Tranh and the fishing village
MIA.vn says Hon Mieu is the nearest island in the bay. Its first stop is Bai Tranh, for swimming and snorkelling. The tour then reaches Tri Nguyen on Hon Mieu, with its aquarium.

Vietnam Booking puts the fishing village at Hon Mieu at 15:00. VinWonders gives a fishing village basket-boat ticket of VND 50,000 per adult and VND 10,000 per child.

Hon Tam and Hon Tre
The national tourism authority says Hon Tam is only 7 km from Nha Trang. It adds that boats leave Hon Tam harbour throughout the day. Vinpearl says the speedboat takes about 10 minutes from the port near Cau Da.

The VinWonders Hon Tam page lists VND 430,000 for speedboat and sea bathing and VND 540,000 with the mud bath. Read the Hon Tam island guide for the timetable and mud bath rules, and Nha Trang mud baths compared for mainland options.

Hon Mun is about 10 km from Cau Da, a crossing of 15 to 20 minutes by speedboat. VinWonders gives 20 to 30 minutes each way for the self-arranged crossing.
Vinpearl places the Hon Tam port near Cau Da port and the Oceanography Institute. Check your ticket for the pier your boat leaves from. See getting around Nha Trang for taxi and bus options.
Local Vietnam says the best months for Hon Mun are March to September. It says October and November are best avoided, the rainy and storm season, when rough seas regularly cancel boat trips.
